Happy birthday to me!

August 1st, 2008

First off all, I’ve posted the next chapter of You Irritate Me. It’s not the most exciting chapter ever, but it’s still early, right? Some more relationship development happens in this chapter, so I hope you all enjoy it! Also, I’ll be changing the layout every time something is added to the fridge in the story, so be sure to look for the latest addition. :)

Things are in motion over at my The Oscars: Hanson Style! awards site. Several categories have already filled up and there are a few that don’t have any nominations at all. I’ve even been nominated for two awards already, one for Best Actor in a Leading Role for Taylor in Revelations and one for Best Visual Effects for You Irritate Me, so thanks so much to those of you who nominated me! I really appreciate it! Keep nominating! It’s shaping up to be a really exciting awards session!

I should have a chapter of Revelations in the next week, I’m working on it! :)

Also, I’ve created a Mailing List, so if you’re interested in getting an e-mail every time I update the site, please sign up! The link can be found in the sidebar.

Thanks so much to Jenny, Amanda, Abby, Renee C., and Hayley for the feedback since the last update!!

Happy Wednesday!

July 24th, 2008

I come today with big news! I ACTUALLY HAVE AN UPDATE OF ‘YOU IRRITATE ME’!!!!!! I’m so excited to be working on this story again. I think it might be just what I need to get the creative hanfic juices flowing again. The layout’s a bit wonky, but it does work. Please just click right in front of the word you want to access (Chapters, Soundtrack, etc.) and the page should load. I’ll try to update the layout so the buttons are visible again in the next few days. [EDIT- Layout is now fixed!] I’m also working on the next chapter of Revelations, so that will be coming soon as well.

I realized that I had posted my reasons for not finishing FFL on JSOR, but not on here, which I apologize for profusely. The decision just came at a time when I wasn’t posting here regularly. So here is what I posted there:

After MUCH thought and consideration, I have decided to not finish Fine, Fine Line. This story, and Tumbling Down as well, were quite autobiographical. At times, they were far too much so. The guy I based Taylor off of for these stories consumed me emotionally for four long years. But now, I’m past him. I’m with a wonderful guy who I’m crazy about and the old guy is far, far behind me. I know that continuing to write this story will stir up emotions I just can’t bring back up.

I feel terrible about leaving it up in the air. I had the entire story planned out, but I’ve tried to write it and it just doesn’t work any more. I made the mistake as a writer of putting too much of myself into a story and it backfired on me terribly.

I sincerely apologize to fans of this story. I wish I would have been able to finish it for you, but just can’t bring myself to write it any more.

So that’s my story and I unfortunately must stick to it for my own sanity. I so appreciate the support you all gave me with these stories and I’m sorry to leave you all hanging.

But, in happier news, I’m doing my own awards site! I’m still in the process of setting up the nomination ballots and the like, so it will be a few weeks before I get it going, but I have the site up and want to share it with all of you! The link can be found –>here<– and it’s my own little homage to the Academy Awards. I hope that everyone has fun with these as I’m super excited to be doing my own awards site! :)

Thank you SO MUCH to Jenny, Diana, Madeline, Toni, Maria, and Lena for leaving me love after the latest update of Revelations. Please check back soon for an update of that! You guys are amazing!

Happy Monday!

June 16th, 2008

Today I bring you a new chapter of Revelations! There are some *gasp* revelations in this chapter, so be sure to go check that out! :)

I also went through and cleaned up some of the pages on the site, moved some of the stories around, etc. I’ll be updating my reading list as soon as I get to make sense of what I’m planning to read and when. I actually have time to read now, so yay! I’ll also be putting up a new layout for the site later today, so come back to check that out as well!

My story for The Spark Inside is today’s story, so that will be up some time today. It’s called Echoes Of My Life, and I’ll have a page for it that I’ll put up after the TSI season is all over. Please go read it and comment on it there!

I plan on starting to work on You Irritate Me as soon as I’m finished with Revelations. I feel the need to approach/tackle one project at a time right now so I don’t get so overwhelmed. But I will write that story and am looking forward to it! :)

Thanks so much to Brittney, Hayley, and Madeline for leaving me love after the last update! You guys are great!

Yes, I’m serious this time.

I HAVE AN UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chapter 14 of Revelations has now been posted. I’m not even going to say anything else other than that, I’m back (and it’s so good to be back)!!!! :)

Don’t get too excited lol

May 15th, 2008

I don’t have any chapters for you yet, but I did want to check in to let you (those of you who still bother to check this thing. If you do, you’re wonderful, by the way) know what was up with my super-extended hiatus.

At first it was writer’s block to the extreme. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to write, but I would just open my Word documents and stare at them, not knowing what to do. My own “personal relationship” with the Hanson brothers was rocky this spring to say the least. And sadly, that has had an impact on my ability to write Hanfic.

That being said, I have a real dedication to finishing both Revelations and Fine, Fine Line and will do so, I swear. But not until this summer. My first year at this job has been infinitely more draining and time-consuming than I had ever imagined. Just ask Becca. I can hardly even stay up until 10 to have a decent conversation, let alone write regularly and effectively.

So, I will be back and those two stories will get finished. I hope that some of you are patient enough to wait it out with me, because I have thoroughly enjoyed your feedback and support throughout the last year or so.

I really don’t know what to say. I never thought that a time would come when I would actually do this, but I have to. I don’t like being unreliable, making you all wait far too long for updates. I don’t even have a good excuse. Nothing in my life has really changed. I’m not more busy or more stressed, I’m just feeling a lack of inspiration of late. I thought that the Winter Slump would help, but it did for a week, but I just keep opening Word documents and staring at them blankly. Words just haven’t been coming easy to me in the projects I’ve been working on. This isn’t goodbye for forever. I have every intention of finishing all three of the stories that I’m currently writing. But, I do have to take a break. I want to take my time, get some chapters bulked up so I don’t feel pressured to finish a chapter Sunday morning so I can post it Sunday night. What once felt liberating and freeing currently feels constricting. I have full hope that my inspiration and enthusiasm will return, but for now, I just need to step back before I get burnt out for good. I hope that everyone understands and that you’ll all come back when I return with regular updates.

I do have a chapter of Revelations that I’m posting today, so those of you who’ve been reading it, Chapter 13 is now up. It’s pretty intense, but some good things get resolved, so I hope you enjoy it. And, thank you so much to those of you who signed the guestbook for the last update. I really appreciate it so much.

For now,
Nat

Don’t die of shock, please!

January 21st, 2008

I come bearing three brand  new chapters today! Chapter 12 of Revelations has now been posted, as has Chapter 8 of Fine, Fine Line. Some pretty big stuff happens in both of these chapters, so be prepared!

Now, I know that I said I wasn’t planning on writing You Irritate Me for quite awhile, but an opportunity to start it has presented itself. Over at the JSOR boards, I brought up how everyone seemed to be in somewhat of a winter writing slump, and one of the users suggested something called “Fix the Winter Slump!” where those of us who are participating are giving each other private feedback on the story we’ve chosen to work on. I could have kept this story quiet until this little challenge was over, but decided to post what I’m working on as a sort of preview. Based on the feedback I get, I might be doing some rewriting, but please go take a look at it. I’m not planning on changing the plot, so let me know what you think of what’s up so far. I had an absolute BLAST making the new layout for it (with a little help from Brittney lol) and I’m really excited to write this story.

Thank you so much to Brittney for signing the guestbook after the last update! :)

I’m back!

January 15th, 2008

Well, I’m finally back with an update! I’d really wanted to give you guys a new chapter of both Revelations and Fine, Fine Line, but only have one of Revelations ready to go. But, Chapter 11 is up, so please go check it out! It’s a long one and I really apologize for the long wait, Revelations readers!

I’m trying to get Revelations wrapped up because I can’t WAIT to start working on You Irritate Me regularly. I keep getting ideas for it and I’m so excited, but no chapters of that will be posted until after Revelations is finished. I have too many irons in the fire already! There’s a new story on the “Coming Soon” page called Starter in case you’re curious about a story I’ll probably write this spring or summer. :)

I have to say an enormous thank-you to everyone who voted for my stories at the Fool’s Banquet Awards! I won six in total and I’m so excited about it! Here’s how it all wound up:

Winner
Bad Solution (Best Plot Twist)- Damn It
Take My Time (Best Opening Scene)- Revelations
Devil’s Nachos (Best Line/Quote)- Revelations, Chapter 9

Runner-Up
My Favorite Shoes (Best Hanson Brother)- Zac in Damn It
People Want to Be Us (Best Couple)- Zac & Esme in Damn It
One More Day (Best Sequel)- Fine, Fine Line

I was so happy to see that several of my stories won awards. I’m really thankful to those of you who voted for me! I promise to keep writing in return! :)

Thanks to Katie, Mrs. Zac Hanson (::cough::Becca::cough::), Becky, and Tracy for signing the guestbook!

Happy Holidays!

December 28th, 2007

Merry Whatever-Holiday-You-Celebrate! :) I hope that everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. I personally can’t wait for New Year’s Eve, my favorite holiday of the year. Yay! :)

Chapter Seven of Fine, Fine Line is now posted! I was so happy to see how many people came back to read FFL after its looooong hiatus! It’s really wonderful to read the comments and have the support, honestly. :)

Chapter Thirteen of Where I Belong was posted on last Saturday by Becca, so check that out and let us know what you think as well!

There are a few days left to vote at the Fool’s Banquet Awards! Be sure to go vote for your favorite stories from this year! There are a lot of great stories nominated, so go check it out and put in your two cents!

Thanks again (SO MUCH) to Diana, Becky, Becca, Katie, Daiana, Mel, Alissa, and Kristy for signing the guestbook. You guys are amazing!! :)

HOORAY!!

December 16th, 2007

It’s the return of Cameron! I’m so excited to post a new chapter of Fine, Fine Line tonight! It’s an intense chapter, but I’m just so glad to be writing her story again! Enjoy!

Becca will be posting Chapter 12 of Where I Belong later this evening, so look at that as well! I’m still working on Revelations, but don’t have an update of that at this moment. I put up a new layout for Damn It, which has a link to it’s follow-up story for Becca’s 25 Days Of Christmas. I think it’s a nice layout and I’ll probably leave that as it is from now on. I just thought that it deserved a nice layout now that it’s all finished and will be doing one for Tumbling Down sometime in the near future as well.

Also, nominations at the Fool’s Banquet Awards close tonight, so get in your last minute nominations and thanks again to whoever nominated my stories for all of those categories! It’s impossible for me to express how much I appreciate all of the support! :)

From now on, I’ll be updating the site once a week on either Saturday or Sunday. It’s my hope that by doing this, people will know when to check in to see if a new chapter of anything has been added. There will be obvious random exceptions, but for the most part, check in on the weekends now for updates. :)

Thanks to Brittney for signing the guestbook! Please let me know what you think of this new chapter of FFL! I’m dying to know what you guys think! :)
